Proceso de trabajo / How it´s made

Una explicación de cómo las camisas y camisetas fueron hechas...

Mi collage de ideas para empezar todo el proceso era: tejidos blancos y de algodón, muchos colores y caos para las serigrafías, ropa cómoda y apta para diferentes tipos de cuerpos.
Dibujé bocetos de Camisas, algunos que me gustaron y otros que fueron descartados porque no funcionaban en el conjunto de la colección.
Confeccioné prototipos de cada modelo y los probé con las mujeres de mi familia, corregí los errores y finalmente me decidí por el tejido. Cada modelo de camisa tiene una tela diferente: más fina o  más gruesa, dependiendo de si la camisa fue hecha para funcionar como una capa de protección sobre el cuerpo, o simplemente para cubrirlo.
Añadí el denim (azul oscuro) en algunas camisas, porque no me gusta ser cabezona con mis decisiones y porque quedaba muy bien con algunas de ellas.
Después decidí cuántas camisas haría y corté la tela para cada una. Junté todos los pedazos que serían serigrafiados y al taller...entré a trabajar con una lista de qué imagen y color quería para cada pieza, pero una vez en el estudio decidí disfrutar. Sólo tenía clara una norma: QUE REINE EL CAOS. Esto significaba cualquier dirección en el tejido, repetición y muchos colores; aunque siempre pensando en cómo quedaría el conjunto de la prenda.
Después de dejar secar cada pieza, confeccioné cada camisa una a una, acabando finalmente la Colección Primavera / Verano ´15.

Las Camisetas eran: blancas, cuello en V o redondo, manga corta y 100% algodón. Las serigrafié una a una siguiendo mi norma principal de caos. Quería hacer cada una diferente, para que fueran únicas.

Aquí acaba un breve resumen de algo que duró meses.

An explanation of how the shirts and t-shirts were made...

My moodboard was: white and cotton fabrics, many colors and chaos for the prints, confortable clothes and suitable for different types of bodies. 
I did some drawings of Shirts which I liked and others were ruled out because they didn´t work with the whole collection.

The prototypes I made of each model, were tested with the women in my family; I made corrections and finaly decided for a fabric. Each type of shirt has a different fabric, either thin or thick. It depended if the shirt was intended to be a layer of protection over the body or simply used to cover it.

I added denim (dark blue) to some shirts, because I don´t like being stubborn with my decisions, and it made the perfect fit for some of them.

I decided how many shirts I was going to make and I cut the fabric needed for each one. Then gathered the pieces to be screen printed and although when I enterd the studio to print I had written which image and which color would be used for each, I let myself enjoy. I only had one clear principle to follow: CHAOS HAD TO RULE. This ment any direction was possible, repetition and many colors; always having in mind how a final piece would look like.

After letting each piece to dry, I asembled each shirt one by one, finally ending the Spring / Summer ´15 Collection.

The T-Shirts were: white,  V-neck or round-neck, short sleeve, regular fit and 100% cotton. They were screen printed one by one too and following my main rule of chaos. I wanted to make each one different, so that they would be unique.

Here ends this brief summary of something that lasted months.

Fue en 2014 cuando pensé en el nombre COLOR JUPITER, acababa de decidir crear una marca de ropa y necesitaba un nombre. Pensé en muchos nombres: nombres reales de miembros de mi familia, mis animales favoritos, nombres de árboles, mi propio nombre, una mezcla de diferentes cosas para crear una palabra inventada, etc.

Desde el principio quería tener un nombre que significara algo especial para mí, tenía claro que quería que se pronunciara tanto en español como en inglés, también tenía que ser algo sencillo y sólo una palabra. Pero de pronto se me ocurrió COLOR JUPITER, Júpiter el planeta siempre ha sido mi favorito, tiene tantos colores y parece tan interesante. El espacio siempre me ha llamado la atención (aunque no entienda nada de lo que sucede en él) y también adoro las películas de ciencia ficción. Pregunté a mucha gente sobre su opinión y seguí pensando en mi decisión durante varios meses, pero al final decidí que éste era el nombre que mejor describía la marca y a mí misma. Estoy muy contenta con la decisión, y espero que a vosotros también os guste.

Respecto al dibujo, le pedí al Ilustrador Oscar Dominguez que creara algo que claramente representara el nombre de la marca, algo sencillo. Decidimos que un dibujo del planeta Júpiter tenía que hacerse; él creo esta belleza y me explicó que ya que Júpiter tiene tantos colores estaría bien si yo pudiera cambiar el color del dibujo al color que más me apeteciera en cada momento. ¡Me encantó la idea!

I came up with the name COLOR JUPITER, in 2014. I had decided to create a clothing brand and needed a name. Many names came up: real names of my family memebers, my favorite animals, trees, my own name, also a mixture of many different names to create a new invented one, etc.

From the beginning I wanted to have a name that ment something special to me, so that I would have an intimate conection with the brand. It was clear to me that it would have to be easily pronounced in spanish and english and it would have to be simple. At first I was just thinking of one word, but suddenly out of the blue COLOR JUPITER came to my mind. Jupiter has always been my favorite planet, it seems so interesting and I like the variety of colors it has.  I have always been interested in the universe (although I don´t understand it) and I also love scifi movies. I asked many different people about their opinion, and received different backup, so I continued thinking about my decission for several months, but in the end decided it was the best name to describe my brand and myself. I am very happy with my decision, and I hope you like the name too.

About the image, I asked the Illustrator Oscar Dominguez to create something that clearly represented the name of the brand, something simple. We decided that a drawing of Jupiter had to be done; he created this beauty and explained to me that since Jupiter has many colors it would be nice if I could change the image color any time I wanted to any color I liked. I loved the idea!

Mercado / Market La Encartada

Estas son algunas fotos de cómo quedó mi stand en La Encartada. Al mercado llevé las prendas de la colección Primavera/Verano ´15, coloqué en la pared con celos de colores algunas de las fotografías de la sesión de fotos del otro día con Miriam Prado. En la mesa expuse la mayoría de las camisetas y en el riel colgué todas las camisas de mujer además de una muestra de las camisetas.

Hizo sol durante los dos días que duró el mercado y se acercó mucha gente; fue una buena primera experiencia en un mercado.

Me gustaría dar las gracias especialmente a todos los que compraron una prenda de mi marca, ¡espero que tengáis una larga vida con ella!

Here are some pictures of how my space in the  Market La Encartada looked like. The clothes I took were from the Spring/Summer ´15 collection. I printed some photos of the photoshooting sesion I did the other day with  Miriam Prado and I hung them on the wall with colored tape. On the table were most of the T-shirts and on the rail the Womens Shirts and some t-shirts.

I had a good time, it was sunny and lots of people came by so it was a very good first market experience for me.

SPRING / SUMMER ´15

SESIÓN DE FOTOS / photoshooting

Hoy ha habido sesión de fotos con la fotógrafa Miriam Prado y Alba Montero de modelo. Alba estaba muy guapa, como siempre, y Miriam muy profesional, y guapa también :)

Ha sido una mañana muy productiva. Miriam ha fotografiado algunos de los modelos de la colección Primavera/Verano ´15, estoy muy contenta con esta primera foto y tengo muchas ganas de ver más!!

Today we had a photoshooting sesion with photographer Miriam Prado and model Alba Montero. Alba very pretty as always, and Miriam very professional and pretty too :)

It´s been a very good morning despite the rain.

I took some of the clothes from the Spring/Summer ´15 collection, so Miriam could shoot each model I´ve made.

I´m happy with this first photo and can´t wait to see the rest!!
